CUSD chooses top employees and volunteer

Corcoran Unified School District has announced its outstanding staff and volunteer for the 2015-2016 school year. They include the top administrator, teacher and classified employee, as well as the district’s outstanding volunteer. All four will be honored at upcoming county events.

Danielle Alvarez claims to enjoy everything about her job, especially playing with the budget, moving funds around and seeing how it all flows. That is a good thing as she is the school district’s administrative assistant/fiscal services and her main job is to prepare the district’s financial statements.

Jose Modesto Leon

Jose Modesto Leon was born in Tempe, Arizona on October 18, 1935 to Manuel Zamora Leon and Paula Modesto Leon. He passed away on December 16, 2015 in Visalia, California with family by his side. He worked as a mechanic in canneries for 25 years.

Former Corcoran resident, John L. Cato (VHS ‘56) died on December 27, 2015 in Kingwood, Texas after a courageous battle with COPD. His strong heart finally gave out.

Esperanza Silguero Gomez

Esperanza Silguero Gomez was born in Stebledejas, Texas on January 24, 1942. On January 2, 2016 she "met her goal, to see Jesus face to face". She was blessed with 73 years here to love her family and serve the Lord. Early every morning she would drive to church so she could pray for her family, church and guidance for each day.
