He was preceded in death by his parents Lino and Sally Cardoso, as well as his first wife, Cindy Armas Cardoso, all of Corcoran. Steve was born and raised in Corcoran, CA having graduated from Corcoran High School in 1970. He grew up around numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and loved playing football for the Corcoran High Panther Football Team. After graduating from high school and attending College of the Sequoias, Steve began working in agriculture and was employed by numerous Ag companies in and around the Corcoran area.  Steve was most recently employed by the J.G. Boswell Company, working in the company’s Water Department. Steve may be remembered most for his love of and time spent around the bar-b-que grill.  He was always the first to offer his services for people around town, when there was a time of need.  In his spare time, he could be found helping the local Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in any one of their fundraisers as well as cooking up his famous linguica sandwiches for the Corcoran Blue Dolphins Swim Team.  Steve loved being around the grill and shared his knowledge with all of those around him.  When he wasn’t holding down the grill at home or around town, he loved to root for his beloved Notre Dame Football team and was also fond of watching the NHRA Drag Races on a Sunday afternoon. Most of all, Steve will be remembered for being a great friend to all of those that knew him. A Rosary was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Corcoran, CA. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 17, 2017 also at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with a burial to follow at the Corcoran District Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at the Recreation Association of Corcoran (formerly known as YMCA).  Arrangements are being made by Bledsoe Family People’s Funeral Chapel in Corcoran, CA. Remembrances may be sent to the Knights of Columbus-Corcoran Council 6008(Fr. Modotti Council) or the Knights of Columbus-057(Fr. Dade Assembly), to the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or to Shriner’s International(Tehran Shriners of Fresno) or any of the donors favorite charities.
