Journal delivery; added service

Starting this week, the Corcoran Journal will be offering local subscribers more bang for their buck.
In partnership with the Kings County daily newspaper, the Hanford Sentinel, the local newspaper will be including wend service of The Sentinel free to local subscribers, The weekend edition contains several sales inserts.
The newspaper will also come a day earlier to local subscribers, The agreement also calls for The Sentinel to deliver The Journal each week. The local newspaper will arrive at subscriber homes Wednesday afternoon by 5 p.m.
Unfortunately, there will be a few exceptions.

Merchants participating in The Spirit of Corcoran Museum Walking Tour can now be identified by wood plaques located outside of each location.
Baseball 6-4 in ESL
The Corcoran High School varsity baseball has just five games left to play in East Sequoia League action.
The Panthers currently have a 6-4 league record after losing both games last week to Woodlake.
Against Woodlake last Friday, Corcoran Lost 1-5. Last Wednesday, the Panthers posted a close 5-6 loss.

Luna named top student
Ms. Braden has chosen John Luna as this week’s Wildcat of the Week at John Muir Middle School. Luna was selected from a pool of nominees who met one or more of the pillars of the Character Counts program.
Camp clean up
YMCA Camp at Lake Sequoia is invited local families to join in preparing the camp for summer sessions.
Opening weekend will be held May 23-25 and individuals and families are invited to attend for just a day – or remain the entire weekend. Food service will start with Saturday morning breakfast and end with a sack lunch on Sunday.
CHS ROTC car wash
Corcoran High School’s ROTC will hold a Corcoran Relay for Life car wash Saturday, from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the high school.
Church sandwich lunch
The First United Methodist Church is holding a fundraiser to install an alarm system in their church. The barbecue pulled pork sandwich fundraiser will be held tomorrow (Friday) from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
