Corcoran police worked with the Kings County Sheriff’s Department in the arrest of a local man accused of sexual assault and other charges.

Vinnie Estrada of Corcoran and Nick Cramer of Lemoore are two 13-year-olds looking for sponsors for their Visalia Oaks Baseball Club. The Oaks have recently qualified for the 13u Major Division Wilson DeMarini Elite World Series which will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Disney in Kissimmee, Florida July 24-August 2. To qualify for the tournament, the team won two USSSA 13u Major tournaments in Los Angeles taking down some of the top teams in California.
State Senator Andy Vidak (R-Hanford) has announced mobile district office hours that will be held throughout his district in July.
Kings Lake Education Center held their adult school commencement ceremony last Tuesday at the Technology Learning Center.
There were 18 graduates who participated in the ceremony. Brooke Blowers gave the flag salute while Tryze Liggins gave the commencement speech. Adult School teacher Takeera Mack had her aunt Karen Edwards sing the National Anthem.
On Monday, Assemblyman Rudy Salas and the state legislature passed the 2015-16 state budget, which provides approximately $117 billion in general fund spending.
