One day watering schedule
Local residents are in for some good news and bad news when it comes to water conservation. Most of it is bad news, so here’s the good: the City of Corcoran has been under state mandate to cut back water use by 36 percent overall. However, since the city has done well, and since there was considerable rainfall this winter, that mandate has been reduced to 32 percent.
City’s spring clean-up April 30-May 7
It’s not too soon to begin preparing for the city’s annual spring clean-up.
SpringFest May 21
The Corcoran Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the 2016 SpringFest which is schedule for Saturday, May 21 in downtown Corcoran.
Marvin Eugene Huie
Services are pending for former Corcoran resident Marvin Eugene Huie, 78, who died April 4 in Lemoore.
Community baby shower
The Corcoran Family resource Center would like to invite pregnant women to join them for a free community baby shower Friday, April 29 from 12-1 p.m. at the Corcoran FRC, 800 Dairy Avenue.
Corcoran Relay for Life nears
Corcoran’s Relay for Life event is planned for Saturday, April 23 at Corcoran Community Stadium.
Reverse drawing
The Corcoran 50-50 Club will be hosting their annual reverse drawing Friday, May 6 at the residence of Jerry and Patty Robertson in Corcoran. The event will be a fiesta theme, with live entertainment and food.
Jubilee Church’s free concert
Jubilee Church is inviting the community to a free outdoor concert Saturday, April 9 at 11 a.m. at 2116 Sherman Ave.
Water initiative needs signatures
Both money and signatures are needed to get the Water Priorities for All Initiative on the November ballot. While an all-out effort is being made to collect the signatures statewide, the Kings County Farm Bureau board of directors has decided to help with the money.
