Additional suspects have been arrested in the shooting and murder of an 18 year old from Corcoran. The shooting occurred Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 4:50 p.m., in the 1100 block of Village Drive in Corcoran.
Upon arrival at the location Corcoran Police officers located a male subject suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment but died from his injuries.
Through further investigation Corcoran Police Detectives were able to identify five suspects in the case. Detectives obtained arrest warrants on all five suspects for 187 PC (Murder).
On Dec. 20, 2022, with the assistance of the Kings County Major Crimes Task Force (KCMCTF) and Bakersfield Police Department, Michael Freeman, 18, was taken into custody in Bakersfield.
Dec. 27, 2022, with the assistance of KCMCTF and Tulare Police Department, Brennon Clark, 18, and one of the juvenile, 15, suspects were taken into custody in Tulare.
Dec. 29, 2022, Dontavious Sanders, 18, turned himself in at the Kings County Jail and Jan. 13 with the assistance of the KCMCTF, the second juvenile suspect, a 15 year old, was taken into custody in Tulare.
All subjects are currently being held in the Kings County Jail and Kings County Juvenile Center on no bail.
