My beautiful wife, Allison Cammann, traveled into the Lord’s hands on February 19, 2021. She was an incredible person and life partner, and we had over 45 wonderful years together. She was, in every way, my best friend. Allison was born in 1951 to Forrest and Alberta Pearman Shook. She joined an older brother (Steven) and sister (Merrillee) and was followed by a younger sister (Martha). Allison’s father died in a crop-dusting accident when the kids were small, and their mother raised all four children in Corcoran, California to be strong and independent. She graduated from Corcoran HS in 1969, worked for a few months in Hawaii, received her AA degree from College of the Sequoias, and then spent a semester at San Jose State on the swim team before she came to Boise, Idaho. Once in Boise, she and I reconnected, and married in 1975. We started our family in late 1976 with our son, Christopher, followed by our daughter, Erin and son, Jeff. Allison was a tremendous mom and loved her children fiercely. We moved around a lot due to my work and each move was an adventure and a success, all made possible because of her. We found ourselves living in Boise, Spokane, San Diego, Santa Cruz and back in Boise until our kids finished school. Then off again to live in Reno, Anchorage, and Salt Lake City, finally returning to Boise in 2008 to be close to our children and grandchildren.Family was everything to Allison. Her treasures were her grandchildren Cooper, Gracie, Cora, Amelia, Tucker, Jordan and Austin. She loved having everyone come over to chat and eat dinner and, of course, have ice cream. Allison was an excellent cook and the grandchildren were never disappointed by what they found in her food pantry. They thought it was a gold mine and spent a lot of time working that claim! She was known as the absolute best Clam Chowder cook ever (always on Christmas Eve). She loved everything about being their Nana.Surviving Allison is her husband, Pat; her three children Chris Cammann (Jessica), Erin Norvell (JR), and Jeff Cammann (Susanna) and their families; her sister, Merrill Nowlin (Roy); her sister Martha Ekhoff; and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Allison was preceded in death by her father, Forrest; her mother, Alberta; her brother, Steven; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Ekhoff. There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life for Allison will be held at a later date.Allison, my darling, I loved your sense of humor and zest for life. You were my hero and I miss you terribly. I look forward to seeing you again. I love you to the moon and back!
