The Corcoran Community Foundation has partnered with the Corcoran Chamber of Commerce to offer Corcoran residents an American Flag Replacement Program.
As part of a business and residential beautification grant, The Corcoran Community Foundation is providing grant money to replace tattered and worn flags flying at both businesses and homes in Corcoran. The program will replace the American flags free of charge.Residents who meet the criteria simply need to bring in their old American Flag and trade it for a new one. Old flags which are collected will be recorded and honorably retried in an official ceremony, said Lisa Shaw, Executive Director of the Corcoran Chamber of Commerce. All owners of the retired flags will be notified by phone of time and date of the ceremony.Local residents who currently don’t have an American Flag to fly outside their business or home can also participate. Call Lisa and ask how to obtain a flag through the program. All American Flags given through the program are made in America with stitched stripes and embroidered stars. For more information and for questions call Lisa at 992-4514 or stop by the Corcoran Chamber of Commerce at 1040 Whitley Avenue.
