Adventist Health Central Valley Network is congratulating Elena and Martin (no last name provided) for being the first to welcome a new baby in Kings County.

The couple rang in the new year with their third child—and first baby girl.

Guadalupe arrived at 12:37 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2015,at Adventist Health/Central Valley General Hospital in Hanford. She weighed 7 lbs. 1 oz. and measured 21 inches in length.

To celebrate her arrival as the first baby of the year, hospital staff presented the proud parents with a baby bath tub full of baby items.

Guadalupe will be among the last New Year’s Day babies born at Central Valley General, since Adventist General plans to open a new family birth center in early 2016. The 49,000-square foot center will be built adjacent to Adventist Medical Center-Hanford, and will replace the current birth center at Central Valley General. The new center will feature 31 private rooms and six neonatal intensive care beds monitored by staff from Valley Children’s Healthcare.
