Betty Ann Dawes passed away in her home, at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday April 5, 2022.
She was born to Deward and Rena Eagle on September 27, 1945 in Arkansas.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Eagle; her daughter, Shellie (Richard) Brewer; and son, Kenny (Angie) Dawes; grandchildren, Miranda Brewer, Marlana (John) Reynoso, Matthew (Amy) Dawes, Megan (Brad) Curtis, Michael (Marie) Dawes, Mitchell (Desirae) Dawes, Mark Dawes; and eight great-grandchildren with many more to come.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Dawes, her parents, Deward and Rena, and siblings, Linda Milligan and Gary Eagle.
Betty was raised in Corcoran, CA and attended schools in the area. The most important thing to Betty was her family, which led to many years of taking care of her mother and brother, Gary.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, cracking walnuts on the back patio, singing hymns in church, playing cards with her sister Barbara and watching game show reruns.
Betty was a miracle. Her testimony is truly something to marvel at. Her purpose here on Earth was to lead people to the Lord and she did just that by being a medical miracle in nearly every stage of her life. Against all odds, Betty survived a car accident that should have killed her on impact, numerous bouts of cancer, and two massive strokes occurring almost simultaneously. Any of these events could have been the end, but God had other plans. We believe that through all of her trials, Betty helped lead people to the Lord.
Two months ago, her husband Chuck went to be with Jesus, and it should be no surprise that Betty was destined to follow soon after. They were soulmates; a true representation of what love should be.
Services were held Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10 a.m. at The Waukena Community Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Waukena Community Church.
