Carmen Martinez Pantoja, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2020. She was born March 22, 1942, in Hanford, CA, to Josephine and Everardo Martinez. She married her longtime love of 60 years, Everett Hernandez Pantoja, who misses her deeply.
Carmen loved to love on people. If she knew you, you always got a hug and a kind smile. Mamma was always about family. She loved all of her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She could sew outfits for her five daughters in one day and patch up any garment that needed fixing.
Her hands were rarely still. Ice cream and sweets were always mammas favorites. She also shared her love for her family with food every holiday, cooking up a feast. Every time you left her home, you always got the sign of the cross on your forehead.
Carmen is survived by her husband Everett Pantoja; her five daughters, Jessie Pantoja Ortiz, Sarah Pantoja Ramirez, Gracie Pantoja Valdez, Sylvia Pantoja, and Gina Pantoja-Gonzales; 13 grandchildren, Mitchell, Micheal, Deshka, Ruscia, Thalia Nautica, Angel Jr., Max, DeMarcos, Aubree, Brenda, Magnus, Mark, and Johnny Jr; plus one great-grandchild, Dezira; and her many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
During this difficult time, we are faced with unprecedented restrictions and challenges. The viewing for Carmen Pantoja will be private. The Graveside Funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2020 at the Calvary Cemetery in Hanford.
Because of restrictions on group gatherings, only ten cars will be allowed inside the cemetery.
