Barrie Boyett of Corcoran recently had some restoration work done on his 1976 Buick Electra. The car, which Boyett had purchased brand new from Boyett Chevrolet in 1975 had been stored for 25 years prior to be restored.
Ray Dias of Dias Classic Cars did the work through the Corcoran Enrichment Center (CEC). They retrieved the vehicle from Boyett’s storage building, refurbished it and got the car running and close to nearly new condition.
The CEC is currently selling raffle tickets for a 1975 Cadillac El Dorado convertible to raise money for the CEC and the Veterans Outreach 1st Responders Park facility at Sante Fe Avenue. The El Dorado features the original 500 c.i. engine, 3-speed automatic transaxle, electric oil pre-luber, optima battery, original AM/FM 8-track, new leather interior and has been repainted to factory color. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased by contacting Ray Dias at 730-5811. The car raffle will be held during the Corcoran Chamber of Commerce SpringFest and Car Show, Saturday, May 21 downtown Corcoran.
The Corcoran Enrichment Center is a new non-profit organization with plans for community improvements.
