In the game one loss, Alexis Lerma had seven total serves, two assists and one ace. Jailen Ramirez had four serves one ace and two kills. Alejandra Fernandez had two blocks and a kill. Tatianna Karabian added one ace as well.

Jailen Ramirez and Julissa Castillo added the other two. Leah Holquin was solid at the serve line all night long providing five points for the Lady Panthers.

In the final game, Jailen Ramirez provided the boost Corcoran needed to finish off Orosi. Six consecutive serves put the Panthers up early and with three aces during that stretch Lerma also added four assists, two to Jailen and two to Julissa. Castillo had a nice assist to Ashley Salas to put Orosi down for good.

Clarissa Gallardo added a much needed spark off the bench, said Coach Anton Glenn. Gallardo had two aces in four serves.
Last Tuesday, Corcoran rebounded from a five game losing streak to beat the Farmersville Aztecs 3-0. Final scores were 25-15, 25-6 and 25-8.

After trailing game one 1-5 CHS served six straight aces–three by Jailen Ramirez and three by Clarissa Gallardo. Senior setter Lerma had five assists. Corcoran had seven team kills with Jailen Ramirez leading the way with 3, Haley Zavala had two, Julissa Castillo and Alejandra Fernandez had one each.  Tatiana Karabian and Julissa Castillo also had two aces.

In game two we only allowed six points.

“Defensively we outplayed them all night long. Alexis Lerma actually kick saved a ball for an assist to Lovechia Jones. Hustle, hustle, hustle. Lerma also got us out to an 8-0 lead adding two aces and three assists,” added Coach Glenn.
Lovechia Jones also served eight straight times during the game adding four aces and two assists one each to Salas and Brianna Ramirez. Jailen Ramirez and Fernandez had two kills each.

In game three, Lerma continued her dominance from the serve line with eight points including two aces to start the game. She also added three assists and one kill for her efforts. Fernandez had two kills while Salas, Briana Ramirez, Zavala, Holquin and Jailen Ramirez each had one kill.  Castillo, Jasmine Romero, Holquin and Tatiana Karabian each had great serving moments contributing with one ace each. Karabian and Tania Montano made several diving saves to keep rallies alive, said Glenn.

The varsity squad has no games scheduled for this week but will travel to Delano for their next game, which is set for Tuesday, Sept. 20 in Delano.
