Starting in April, the local city council will change its meeting time and date.

The council last week approved moving its meeting time to 5:30 p.m. The council also chose to change its meeting date to the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.

For April, that will mean the council will meet April 12 and 26.

For many years, the council has met on the first and third Monday at 6 p.m. However, it was noted last week that three councilmen have spouses involved in the local school board meetings. School board also meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, allowing those families to clear their calendars for the first and third weeks of the month.

March meetings of the council will proceed on the current meeting schedule: the group will meet March 7 and 21 at 6 p.m.
