The City of Corcoran is holding their annual fall clean-up which begins Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Senior citizens and disabled persons qualify for curbside pickup. During the clean-up curbside pickup will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays and local residents can call Corcoran Public Works at 992-2151 ext. 2201 to schedule a pick up date and time. Curbside pickup is for larger bulky items only; items that fit in toter are not eligible.
The clean-up is a free event for any customer current and paying for refuse services with the City of Corcoran. All participants must present photo ID that matches City bill to obtain a voucher at City Hall, which is located at 832 Whitley Ave. Vouchers are currently available and only one voucher per household will be given.
Residents disposing of tires will be charged $10-$15 per tire (limit of nine tires). Residents disposing of CRTs, computer monitors and TVs will not be charged a per unit fee. Residents disposing of appliances will be charged $15.00 per appliance. No treated wood will be accepted.
Household Hazardous Waste drop off will be Saturday, Nov. 5 only.
Current guidelines for clean-up include:
–All residents must wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
–Residents must be through the gate at 4:00pm, waiting in line will not constitute entry.
–Expect longer wait times due to social distancing protocols while dumping (they must adequately space out all residents while they unload).
–uncovered load fee of $2 per ton ($2 minimum).
Clean up will be held from Nov. 1 through Saturday, Nov. 19 from 7 a.m. 4 p.m. at Kings Waste and Recycling site only, which is located at 7803 Hanford-Armona Road (East of Hwy 43). Only one truck or trailer per household voucher will be allowed.
KWRA will be closed Friday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
