The Corcoran Chamber of Commerce is busy planning the City of Corcoran’s 100th annual Christmas Tree lighting with plenty of “Winter Wonderland” activities to be enjoyed by all.
In preparation for the 100th annual event the chamber, the city, local organizations and The Corcoran Community Foundation are planning a weekend long celebration. Ideas for the centennial tree milestone include a baking contest, neighborhood decorating contests, Saturday breakfasts with Santa Claus, ice skating, a live nativity, and much more.
The Corcoran Community Foundation has also made a generous donation of funds to purchase new downtown Christmas decorations. The previous set of decorations will be donated to the City of Avenal.
While ideas for the event are plentiful the cost is well over $35,000. The 100th Christmas Tree Celebration Committee is seeking sponsors who wish to help with the event. Sponsors would be listed in all press releases and advertising. Sponsorship levels include:
–Star Sponsor: $5,000.
–Mistletoe Sponsor: $2,500.
–Joy Sponsor: $1,000.
–Holly Sponsor: $500.
–Gingerbread Sponsor: $250.
–Snowflake Sponsors: any amount the donor would like to contribute.
The 100th celebration will be held Thursday, Dec. 5 through the weekend.
