Corcoran FFA receives awards, degrees

Four Corcoran FFA members earned state degrees at least week’s awards banquet, held at the Kings Fairgrounds in Hanford. FFA members from high schools in Kings and Tulare counties came together for the event.

Taking their state degree honors were Michael Cribbs, Brittany Jordan. Victor Mendoza and Sidnee Mowdy.

 

The banquet also included dinner, scholarship presentations and proficiency awards.

 

Star awards were also presented, and went to:

 

–J.J. Albert, bronze; Antonia Stone, bronze; and Rich Merlo, silver, star administrators.

 

–Gabriela Cruz, Ed Larkin and Hope Lerma, all bronze awards for star counselors.

 

–And Star Supporting Faculty gold star Alyssa Gomez; and bronze star recipients Ramon Arreola, Jonathan Carnes and Sarah Howard.

Cookie, fudge contest winners

The Corcoran Journal and Corcoran Chamber cookie and fudge contest winners were chosen last week. The cookie contest was decided by just one point and taking home first place was Tiffany Singleton who submitted snickerdoodles. In second place in the cookie contest was Patti Rodriguez who won with her Raspberry Ribbon Cookies.
