Want to improve the health needs of Corcoran? Corcoran District Hospital (CDH) is providing grants for projects which promote activities and programs that improve the health and well-being of District residents. The CDH Board of Trustees will invest in organizations and agencies whose purpose and activities align with the goals and objectives of the District.
All types of patient healthcare services and programs are eligible for consideration for an award of grant funds, provided that they advance the District’s goals, vision and mission. That mission is to meet the health care needs of the District residents through the provision of health care services, wellness projects, public awareness, and health education.
Grant applicants must primarily reside or be organized or incorporated within the local hospital district. Applicants must show that District residents will be the primary beneficiaries of the program or service that the grant funds will be applied towards.
Applications are available at the CDH website at https://corcoranhospital.specialdistrict.org/, by contacting the district at 1040 Whitley Avenue or by mail to P.O. Box 758, Corcoran, CA 93212. Once a completed application is submitted the District Board may contact the applicant for a conference or possible site visit. The board will then review the proposal which will be followed by a board vote.
Currently, the District added a physical fitness area at the J.G. Boswell II Park located near the Rotary Pavilion and soccer fields on Whitley Avenue. They also installed pickle ball courts on Patterson Avenue on the Recreation Association of Corcoran grounds.
Board Chairman Mike Graville says that the board is planning to hold future town hall meetings to allow for public input on the healthcare needs of the community.
