There are plenty of great activities going on with the Corcoran Police Department’s Police Activities League. Just in time for back to school PAL plans to launch some special events. They include:
–How about a Cops, Kids and Ice Cream day? It’s going to happen at Bret Harte Elementary School Friday, Aug. 21. All of Corcoran’s kindergarten and first grade students are going to be able to share an ice cream with their favorite police officer.
–Dogs in the Park are back! At least they will be, beginning in September. The annual fundraiser will take place over four weeks, with PAL serving hotdogs and all the fixins’ each Friday between 11:30-1 p.m. at Christmas Tree Park. There’s no better way to enjoy a lunch hour as summer turns to fall.
Chili will be provided for those who want to spice up their dogs and pre-orders will be taken. Call Maria at 992-5151, extension 272 to pre-order lunch.
–Corcoran Police Explorers will be having an Explorer Appreciation and Open Recruitement Night on Aug. 25. The event will be held at the Corcoran City Council chambers. For more information, contact Sgt. Pedro Castro or Kathy Gibson at the police department at 992-5151,
