A memorial service was held in Porterville Saturday, Sept. 10 for Dawn Meredith Gilden, 40, who died Aug. 23 in Porterville.
Gilden grew up in Porterville and graduated from Porterville High School. She attended Fresno State and graduated in 1997. She was a former teacher at John C. Fremont School.
Dawn was a very dedicated teacher, who guided many school and community activities. She was a volunteer for the Corcoran Kiwanis Club.
She will be greatly missed at John C. Fremont School.
Survivors include her mother, Lillian Gilden; and sister, Erin Gilden.
She was preceded in death by her father in 2010.
The memorial service was held at 12 noon in the First Congregational Church, 165 Mill Avenue in Porterville.
