Frank Avitia went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 10, 2021 at the age of 83.Frank Avitia went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 10, 2021 at the age of 83.

He was born to Vicente and Josefa Avitia on October 25, 1937 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He grew up in Corcoran and graduated from Corcoran High in 1956. After high school he joined the Army and served 2 years mostly in Germany during the Cold War.

He returned to Corcoran where he began a career working for the school district spanning 37 years.Frank enjoyed a full and busy life, spending time with family, working on projects around the house, and tending his yard. Frank along with his brother Moses created the Avitia Golf Classic and Scholarship in honor of their mother.

The golf tournament was held every Memorial weekend and was enjoyed by family and friends.He is survived by his loving wife, Jane of 48 years; son, Troy and wife Marlena, daughter, Marlo, son, Tyron and wife Caroline, daughter, Brooke; grandchildren, Pauline, Erik (deceased), Aarron, Trenton and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Khloii, Erik, Damon (deceased), Samara and Iris.
