Gary Davis a former resident of Corcoran, known to many as “Dode”, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at his home in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Gary was born in Visalia on October 21, 1944 to Dale and Louise Davis. Gary attended schools in Corcoran and graduated from CHS in 1963.
He worked for the telephone company, Lakeland Dusters and Farr Company in Corcoran before moving to Vallejo in 1999. He worked at Blue Rock golf course in Vallejo before retiring. Gary and his wife, Cathy moved to Klamath Falls in 2006 to be close to his granddaughters.
Gary enjoyed taking long rides with his wife and his dog, Maggie. He always would decide to take a road less traveled just to see where it would take him. From a very young age he would just take off on his own in Corcoran, as young as the age of 5, just looking around, with parents and the police looking for him.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cathy of Klamath Falls; his three daughters, Shannon Inman, (Jason) of Klamath Falls, Amber Davis of Tulare and Madyson Davis of Klamath Falls; three granddaughters, Paige and Shyanne Inman and Kylie Kimbrell; two sisters, Karen Frey of Corcoran and Tammy Dias (Leonard) of Hanford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Larry Davis of Corcoran.
A Celebration of Life was held at the home of his sister, Karen Frey, on Saturday, March 19, 2016.
