Justin George of Corcoran has had a busy couple of weekends recently. He was out with his rifle earning his way to two state championship titles two weekends in a row.

George, who is a senior at Corcoran High School, competed in the California State Palma Rifle Championships this past weekend. The event was held in Coalinga and is sponsored by the California Rifle and Pistol Association. In the two-day match, Justin won the High Junior in the event. He shot at 800, 900 and 1,000 yards without the use of a scope.

 

The weekend of Feb. 27-28, Justin took his American Flag painted rifle to the California State Fullbore Championships, which was also held in Coalinga. During the two-day match, Justin shot from 300, 600, 900 and 1,000 yards. He won in the High Junior category.

 

This weekend, Justin will hit the road again as he travels to Sacramento to compete in the American Canadian Championships.

 

Justin is the son of Maria and Jimmy George of Corcoran.
