Think you make a great pie? Enter your pie in the Corcoran Journal and the Corcoran Chamber of Commerce‘a annual holiday pie contest which will be held Wednesday, November 10. Winners of the pie contest will be awarded with Corcoran cash and have their photo along with their pie recipe featured in the Corcoran Journal just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Pie entries will be judged by a panel of pie expert judges. The group of judges will evaluate each entry on the following criteria: overall appearance; taste and texture of the crust; and taste and texture of the filling. The contest is open to anyone, with the exception of employees of the newspaper or the chamber of commerce. Individuals can submit more than one entry; however, each pie must be submitted with a separate entry form. There is no charge for entries. Prices include $100 Corcoran cash for first place, $50 for second place and $25 for third place. Winners will be notified that evening the Journal will take photos of the winners and print the winning recipe in the newspaper the week before Thanksgiving.
