Annette Cortez Cabral formerly of Corcoran, passed away Monday, June 10, with her sons Tyler and Dustin Cabral, at her side at Hinds Hospice in Fresno.

Services will be held Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church for long time Corcoran resident Arthur “Art” Nolen, 72, who died July 12 in Visalia.

Carl H. Froehlich won the Col. James G. Boswell Scholarship in 1970. He shared the prestigious honor with Shirley Fugate and David Barnes. Froehlich died at the age of 63 years old in 2015 but he made an impact as a Boswell Scholar and continues to do so after his death with a memorial Scholarship.

Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino recently hosted its June community breakfast and presented a check for $4,192 to the Victim Witness Assistance Program of Kings County, an organization that seeks to make the criminal justice system more understandable, accessible and responsive to the concerns of victims and witnesses

Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino recently hosted its monthly community breakfast and presented a check for $5,760 to Reestablishing Stratford, a non-profit organization dedicated to identifying, developing, providing events, services, and resources beneficial to Stratford residents and the community.

Corcoran High Class Athletes of the Year were honored during last week’s Athlete of the Year banquet which was held in the Technology Learning Center at CHS. A female and male athlete of the year are chosen in each class. The following are the winners.

Combined Rosary and mass services were held Wednesday, May 29 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for Gloria Marin Dominguez.

Jack Bartlett, 90, was born in 1929 and raised in Corcoran. He died May 3, 2019 in Fremont, CA due to emphysema and cardiac disease.

Mass services were held May 24 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 10 a.m. for Francisca Alvarado Garcia, who was born June 4, 1929 in Guadalupe Mexico to Jose Angel Alvarado and Maria Martinez Alvarado. 

Our lovely mother Francisca Chavez Grijalva Flores passed away on May 14, 2019. She was born in Solomonville, Arizona on December 7, 1920.
