Brothers win bronze

Brothers Justin and Kevin George of Corcoran have won the bronze medal in the team competition at the Long Range World Rifle Championships which were recently held in New Zealand.

Gomez, Roby honored as top citizens

The Corcoran Chamber of Commerce held their annual banquet last Wednesday where they honored their top citizens award winners. The 2018 Man of the Year went to Raul Gomez while Anita Roby was named the 2018 Woman of the Year. Taking home Junior Citizen of the year honors was Oscar Miranda and The Corcoran 50-50 Club was honored as the Organization of the Year.

Raul "Paul" Salinas

Raul “Paul” Salinas was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 11, 1946.  Raul was a 1965 graduate of Corcoran High School.  He passed away on January 26, 2019 in El Monte, California at 72 years-old after a long illness.

Wilma Burruss

Wilma L. Burruss was born November 30, 1921 in Fort Worth, Texas to Roland M. Adney and Pearl Foster Adney.  She was married to Durwood Burruss for 61 years and to their union were born Ron and Jan.  Durwood passed away February 16, 1998.

CUSD Star Students

Corcoran Unified School District recently named their Star Students for the second quarter. One Star Student is chosen from each of the local school sites. Students are chosen based on over-all improvement, character and other criteria. The students are nominated by their teachers. This quarter’s students include:
