Miss Kings County

Time is running out in the search for young ladies between the ages of 13 - 17 (junior in high school) and between the ages of 17 (a senior in high school) and 24, never married or had children who would like to compete for the title of Miss Kings County’s Outstanding Teen 2015 or Miss Kings County 2015 respectively.

Public Forum

The public is welcome to participate in a public forum with the Kings County Reentry Taskforce in an effort to strengthen services provided to county youth by both the probation and Child Protective Services (CPS) programs.

 

The local public hearing will be held at the Corcoran RAC on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 10 a.m. The hearing will be held until 12 noon.

Chamber honors

The annual Corcoran Chamber of Commerce banquet is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 28. The event will be held at the RAC gymnasium and will honor this year’s winners who include Man of the Year Jim Razor, Woman of the Year Linda Sharp, Jr. Citizen of the Year Jana Rowe and Organization of the Year the Corcoran 4-H Club.

CHS athletes recognized

Corcoran High School had several athletes who participated in fall sports recently recognized for their efforts. Several football players were named all-league by the East Sequoia League as well as two CHS volleyball players. Also, several cross country runners were honored by The Hanford Sentinel for their performances.
