Joe A. Godina, 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

A World War II veteran and resident of Corcoran, he worked at Corcoran Milling Company and retired from Corcoran Unified School District as a custodian for 35 years at Mark Twain Elementary School.
Joe is preceded in passing by his wife, Virginia Bañales Godina and son Aniceto Godina.
He is survived by his son, Joe Godina Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kathy Godina; daughters, Anna Maria Nava, Olga Gallegos and son-in-law Raymond Gallegos Sr., Dina Godina, Elia Alaniz and son-in-law Johnny Alaniz Jr.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Joe was a supportive parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and member of the Guadalupana Society. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Joe to: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Religious Education Program, 1404 Hanna Ave., Corcoran, CA, 93212.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. at Bledsoe Family People’s Funeral Chapel and rosary will be recited Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 7 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Christian graveside burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Hanford.
