Joe Louis Vasquez, 83, of Corcoran went home to be with his Lord, Saturday October 24, 2015 at his home with his wife by his side.
Joe was born on June 21, 1932 in El Centro, California. He moved to Corcoran when he was five and became a lifelong resident. He met and married Aurelia Isabelle Batrez February 5, 1950. They were married 65 years.
In his early years Joe was employed at J.G. Boswell Company as a foreman for 30 years. He retired June 1985. He was very active in the community a longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and member of The Knights of Columbus.
After his retirement, he served as a member of the Corcoran Senior’s Center. He loved and adored his wife Aurelia; his children, Joseph Louis Vasquez and his wife Myra Ann Vasquez, daughter Vicky Vasquez Ruiz and husband Michael N. Ruiz; grandchildren, Vincent Vasquez, Janelle Vasquez Hernandez, Stephanie Wood Jimenez and Michelle Wood Leyvas; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
Joe will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at Bledsoe Family People’s Funeral Chapel, today (Thursday) October 29, 2015 from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Rosary will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church today (Thursday) at 7 p.m. Mass services were held at the Catholic Church Friday October 30, 2015 at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Corcoran District Cemetery.
