Jose Modesto Leon was born in Tempe, Arizona on October 18, 1935 to Manuel Zamora Leon and Paula Modesto Leon. He passed away on December 16, 2015 in Visalia, California with family by his side. He worked as a mechanic in canneries for 25 years.

Jose married Blasa Delgado Leon 55 years ago. Together they were blessed with three children.

Jose is survived by his wife Blasa, their children, Susie L. Hernandez of Salinas, Joey D. Leon of Visalia and Joanne D. Leon of Salinas, Two grandchildren Sabrina L. Hernandez and Joseph L. Hernandez; his siblings, Manuel Leon, Jimmy Leon, Catalina L. Martinez and Beatrice Davis.

Jose was preceded in death by parents, Manuel and Paula Leon, siblings Rosie Esparza and Rudy Leon.

Visitation was held at Bledsoe Family People’s Funeral Chapel, Tuesday, December 29. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church following the visitation.

Funeral Mass was held at the Church Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Interment was private.
