A 17 year old male juvenile has been arrested in Texas and charged with the murder of 53 year old Richard Hernandez of Corcoran.
According to the Corcoran Police Department Friday, January 5 at approximately 7:58 p.m., Corcoran Police Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Hanna Avenue regarding a shooting.
Officers arrived at the scene and located a male victim lying down on the ground who had been shot. The 53-year[1]old victim was identified as Richard Hernandez. Richard was treated by medical personnel but was pronounced deceased at the scene. Corcoran Police Department Detectives responded to the location to conduct the homicide investigation.
Since this incident occurred, Corcoran Detectives have been investigating and gathering evidence. Detectives identified the shooter as a 17-year-old male juvenile from Corcoran.
It was found that the suspect has since fled to the State of Texas. On January 31 the juvenile suspect was arrested by a local agency in the State of Texas. The juvenile suspect was extradited to the Kings County Juvenile Center where he is being held on the charge of 187(A)-Homicide.
