Karl Michael Smith, Jr., 67, lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 21, 2016.

Mike was born in Columbus, GA. on Feb. 14, 1948. He attended Fresno schools, Sacred Heart Elementary, San Joaquin Memorial High School and graduated from McLane High School in 1966. He joined the U.S. navy later that year. Mike enjoyed camping and motorcycle riding with his family and many friends.

 

He is survived by his wife, Anna; son, Jason Smith (Missy); daughter, Lindsay Phillips (Mike); mother, Pauline Smith; sisters, Mary Carroll (Dennis), Erin Gilbert (Darin) and brother, Eric Smith. He will be missed by his five grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Karl M. Smith Sr., and brother, Stephen E. Smith.

 

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the charity of their choice.
