
Celebration of Life Services was held Friday, Jan. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Recreation Association of Corcoran for Larry Davis.
Larry was born in Hanford Dec. 26, 1947 to Dale and Louise Davis. He worked for Tulare Lake Drainage over 20 years and he loved his job. Upon his retirement he spent his days golfing, hunting and taking his boat out fishing.
He was a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Corcoran and served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a two-sport athlete his four years of high school playing basketball and baseball.
Larry was also very active in the community volunteering for various organizations which included Pop Warner Football, Indian Guides for the YMCA, Past Master for DeMolay, Corcoran Little League and Corcoran Babe Ruth. He coached Little League baseball for three years and Babe Ruth for 10 years and, along with Delmer Gullett, was probably the most winningest coach during those years. He was known to be very caring and he was a well-respected coach.
Larry loved to bowl, play in the adult softball league, golf, hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife and childhood sweetheart, Pam who he married in 1971; their three children, Bryan Davis (Melissa) of San Luis Obispo, Brad Davis and Brooke Davis (Guy Batchelder) of Corcoran. He is also survived by his siblings, Gary and wife, Kathy of Oregon, Karen Frey of Corcoran and Tammy Dias and husband, Leonard of Hanford; brother-in-law, John Kreel; and sister-in-law, Michele Souza. Also, surviving him is his best little friends, his grandsons, Cruz and Xavier and numerous family and friends.
