Lifelong Corcoran resident Lucille H. Smith passed away in Hanford on March 31, 2017, at the age of 99.  She was born on Oct 21, 1917, in Corcoran Ca.

She graduated from Corcoran High School in 1935, and married Maurice Haisley Smith (“Smitty”) on May 29, 1935.  They were married for 65 years when Smitty passed away in 2001.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Corcoran Mercantile and also worked for Gilkey Farms for 25 years.  She was a past member of Plantation Club, Cotton Heirs, and 50-50 Club.  She loved gardening and traveling.
She spent the last four plus years being cared for by Hanna’s Home Care where they considered her their family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Smitty, her brother, Jack Harrison, her sisters, Margaret Heintz and Grace Hammond and her nephew, Joe Hammond. 
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She never met a stranger and she was loved by all who knew her.  Lucille will be truly missed.
Graveside services were held at Corcoran Cemetery District on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
