Ms. Braden has chosen John Luna as this week’s Wildcat of the Week at John Muir Middle School. Luna was selected from a pool of nominees who met one or more of the pillars of the Character Counts program.
“He is a sweetheart and has worked very hard improving his reading and math skills. He is kind, always respectful and gives good effort. He is well deserving and awesome all around,” said Ms. Braden.
The seventh grader is the son of Irene Luna.

Danielle Alvarez claims to enjoy everything about her job, especially playing with the budget, moving funds around and seeing how it all flows. That is a good thing as she is the school district’s administrative assistant/fiscal services and her main job is to prepare the district’s financial statements.

The Corcoran Journal and Corcoran Chamber cookie and fudge contest winners were chosen last week. The cookie contest was decided by just one point and taking home first place was Tiffany Singleton who submitted snickerdoodles. In second place in the cookie contest was Patti Rodriguez who won with her Raspberry Ribbon Cookies.
