Jesse Gomez of Corcoran was arrested by local police Saturday, Nov. 7, following a stolen vehicle report two days earlier.
Police were dispatched to the 2600 block of Olympic Ave. Nov. 5, for the stolen vehicle report. The victim told officers he had started his 2008 Ford Fusion and gone back inside his residence. When he came back out, the vehicle, which was unlocked, was gone. That incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m.
Saturday at about 2:30 p.m., officers reported to a shots fired report in the alleyway of the 1700 block of Orange Ave. A suspect vehicle was found traveling in the area and witnesses pointed out the direction it had traveled.
The vehicle was abandoned, said another witness, who provided a suspect description. When officers arrived in the area, they found Gomez, 18, who was arrested without incident.
The vehicle being driven by Gomez was determined to be the stolen Fusion. Gomez was also found in possession of property known to have been in the stolen vehicle.
Gomez was booked into the Kings County Jail with a bail of $25,000.
