Marylou was born in Simi Valley on Feb. 21, 1930 to Magdalena Pedrosa and Jose Guzman. She peacefully passed away at home Oct. 20 following a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. She was 91 years old.
She is now in God’s comfort and memory. She was a member of the Cong. of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Marylou settled in Corcoran in 1940 and attended local schools. She worked in the fields as a farm worker but mostly as a homemaker throughout her life.
Marylou is survived by her children: Mary Palmerin, Sidonio “Sid” Palmerin (Pauline), Irene Jimenez (Mike-deceased), Rosaleen Avalos (Robert) and Blanca Garcia (Heraclio), all of Corcoran; eight grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; a paternal half-sister, Enedina Guzman; and numerous nieces and nephews, all from GTO, Mexico; her only surviving uncle Raul Atilano (Mary).
Marylou was preceded in death by: her son, Daniel Avilez (Rosalba-deceased), her mother, Magdalena P. Ferrer, her father, Jose Guzman, and a paternal half-sister, Josefina Guzman.
At the request of Marylou, no services will be held.
Arrangements were made under the direction of the Bledsoe Family Peoples Funeral Chapel.
