Police are still on the hunt for a suspect in a Corcoran homicide that took place in April of 2016.
In a recent news release, the Corcoran Police Department noted officers were dispatched to a traffic collision at the intersection of Sherman and Chittenden avenues at about 8 p.m. on April 11, 2016. Officers located 39-year-old Gustavo Guadalupe Ortega with a single gunshot wound to the chest. The victim died at the scene.
Witnesses stated they observed the victim parked in the roadway arguing with another subject in a small dark colored vehicle. Witnesses also told police they heard a gunshot and observed the dark colored vehicle speed away.
The victim attempted to drive away but collided with an object in a front yard of a residence in the 1300 block of Chittenden Ave.
The Corcoran Police Department is asking anyone with information about this crime to call 992-5151. Anyone with information may remain anonymous by calling the confidential crime line at 992-3591. Information can also be provided through the Nixle alert.
