Mass services were held Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for Mychal Jayson Granado.
Granado was born August 5, 1994 and entered the gates of heaven Christmas Eve, December 24, 2022.
Mychal had a larger than life personality and made an impact on everyone he encountered. “Big Mike ” as he was known around town, was all about loyalty and family. His smile could light up a room, and that laugh he had was definitely unique. Once you crossed his path and he let you into his life, you were a part of his family forever.
As a child, Mychal interacted with so many people in Corcoran and was a familiar face around the RAC Basketball Courts, Little League Diamond as well as the Corcoran High School Gym. He loved playing basketball and launching half court shots, which he made every time. He liked playing baseball, and he loved being in the batter’s box and hitting home runs because he knew he’d collect $20 bucks every time. Mychal was also appointed as the sports manager to all of his mom’s teams that she coached throughout the years at CHS. He was ready to shag balls and step in whenever they needed an extra player to run plays. He also enjoyed walking down Whitley Avenue to make doughnut runs for the girls too.
As an adult, Mychal fell in love and met his wife, Desiree. He loved going out on family outings being a Tio to all the kids in the family and wasn’t afraid to show his softer side with them. Mychal and Desiree made their home in Hanford where he made many, many, more friends everywhere he went.
Mychal was definitely loved by so many people and will be missed. The everlasting memories of him will never be forgotten and he will always be in our hearts.
Mychal was preceded in death by his grandma, Cruz Granado.
He is survived by his mother, Missy Granado (Louis); brothers, Stephen Orosco (Carson) and Ayden Granado; grandma, Janie Rivera; father, Ruben Rivera; his wife, Desiree Saiz Granado of Hanford; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, many, many, friends and all of Corcoran.
Rosary was held Monday, Jan. 9 at 5 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Following mass services on Tuesday, interment was at Corcoran District Cemetery.
