NEW ENTRANCE SIGNS are going up at Whitley Avenue and at Santa Fe Avenue along Highway 43. The city has retained the stone wall portion of the Whitley sign, originally donated to the community by the Corcoran Garden Club in the 1960s, but has updated the welcome with a new design constructed in Corcoran by Mid-State Precast. The art nouveau background will have its lettering put in place once the sign is erected. Two cranes were in use Tuesday morning, but a third, larger crane was being sought because of the sign’s weight.
