The City of Corcoran is reminding businesses and residents that new watering regulations are now in place. The new rules took place Dec. 1 and allow landscape and lawn watering only one day per week.
Additionally, the watering schedule is as follows:
–watering can take place only between 6 a.m. and midnight on the designated watering day;
–Residential properties with addresses ending in an even number may water on Sunday;
–Residential properties with addresses ending in an odd number may water on Saturday;
–Commercial properties with address ending in an even number are allowed to water on Wednesday;
–Commercial properties with address ending in an odd number may water on Tuesdays;
–Churches may irrigate on Friday;
–Multi-family complexes are allowed to irrigate only on Friday;
–No watering during and up to 48 hours after measurable rain.
The watering schedule does not apply to water customers using a drip irrigation system to water gardens, plants, trees, shrubs and other landscaped areas. The city has set in place a fine schedule of between $100 and $500 for water users who violate the regulations.
