Graveside services wereheld Friday, May 6 at 10 a.m. at Corcoran District Cemetery for O.D. McVay longtime resident of Corcoran, who passed away peacefully at his son’s residence May 1 at the age of 92.
O.D. was born April 20, 1924 in Kingsley, Arkansas to Nelson McVay and Ona McElroy McVay. He was a heavy equipment operator for 71 years.
Seeing the devotion and love for God from most of his family, O.D. gave his heart to Jesus just four months before he passed away.
Survivors include his children, Melba Woods, Nancy Carol Russell, O.D. McVay, Jr., Diana Boswell, Roger McVay, Danny McVay, Mary Ann Hargis; Step-children include Franklin Cossey, Cecil Cossey, Patsy Jones, Paul Cossey, and Jimmy Cossey; brothers, Sonny McVay and Bobby McVay; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
O.D. was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lillian McVay and children Randall McVay and Patsy Green.
