Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Patricia Jean Bledsoe passed away on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, is forever reunited with her husband, Lloyd Fountaine Bledsoe. Mr. Bledsoe died in May of 2015.
A combined service for the couple was held Saturday, March 24 at noon at the Bledsoe Family People’s Funeral Chapel.
Patricia was born in Topeka, Kansas on Nov. 15, 1925. She spent her teens as a student at Hollywood High School. She enjoyed acrobatics, dancing and was a wonderful artist.
Pat and Lloyd were married July 31, 1944 and were happily married for 72 years. She and Lloyd came to Corcoran in the mid-1950s and worked diligently together to build the funeral home business in Corcoran, Patricia was a constant contributor to the community through her involvement in the Garden Club, the Thursday Club and as chairwoman of the American Field Service (AFS) International program for several years.
She and Lloyd were also faithful members of the First United Methodist Church in Corcoran, where she participated in the choir.
In later years, she and her husband enjoyed lunching at the Kate H. Boswell Senior Center. She continued to promote charities including the recreation and high school swim teams.
Patricia is survived by her brother, Richard B, Smith of Visalia; children Kathleen M. Montgomery of Lemoore, Judith E. Riley of Visalia, James S. Bledsoe of South Lake Tahoe and John E. Bledsoe of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
