Rafael Vasquez Quintanilla, 82, of Corcoran passed away July 12 at his home.
Rafael was born in Hargill, Texas to Porfirio Zapata Quintanilla and Ignacia Vasquez Quintanilla. He had the usual education for someone his age attending only until second grade then it was time to go to the fields and help the family. Rafael worked in the fields for over 50 years. Being outside most of his life, Rafael enjoyed going to the park and just sitting and enjoying the outdoors and visiting friends. He was a quiet man and stayed to his own business. Survivors include his sister, Connie Quintanilla; and his brother, Pete V. Quintanilla. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation was held Thursday July 27, 2017 from 9-10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Mass was held at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Corcoran District Cemetery.
