Services were held Friday, Jan. 13 at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Nazarene for Robert “Bob” Theodore Geissler, who died Dec. 24, 2022.
91 years old, third child of Goldie and Theodore Geissler of Hanford, California, married twice. He had two children with his first wife, Elizabeth Sterling, daughter Betsy Sterling Champ and son, Bill Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ruth Gomes and Esther Geissler; and brother, Franklin David Geissler.
Bob attended schools and college in California. He was a Boy Scout and Eagle Scout. He enlisted in the military and served in the Korean Conflict from 1951-1952.
Bob was retried as an industrial school teacher. He was loved and respected by his students.
Bob is a Korean Conflict Veteran, life member and Post Commander of the Gerald Thomas Post 144, VFW and AmVet. He has been the Corcoran Optimist Club President and Lt. Governor as well as past Grand Marshall for Kings County. He also served on the FAST Credit Union board for several years.
Bob and his daughter, Betsy went to the honor flight to Washington, D.C. which was the highlight of his life.
Bob was also Corcoran’s Man of the Year.
He also leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Apolonia B. Geissler; and his sister, Aida Arnold.
Bob was a loving husband, sibling, friends, father and uncle. He will surely be missed. RIP Shaloh! Till we meet again.

Following services, interment was at Corcoran District Cemetery.
