Friday, the Board of Trustees for the Corcoran Unified School District held a special board meeting to pass a resolution to extend the district’s school facility closure through the end of the regular school year which is June 2.

“It is unfortunate we are in circumstances to close our school facilities for another two months.  In light of this challenge, our staff has exceeded everyone’s expectations through their efforts and outreach to continually educate our students in so many creative, innovative and effective ways,” Superintendent Rich Merlo said. “We are so blessed to be one of the few school districts in the entire nation with 99% of our students with a device at home with Internet access if needed.”
More information regarding the school facility closure will be available soon.
This week students have taken a break from their online studies for Spring Break. School—online learning will resume Tuesday, April 14.  And with the return of online instruction comes the meal distribution. Meals will be distributed drive-thru style from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the parking lot of Technology Learning Center (TLC). Lunch for that day plus breakfast for the following morning will be given to each student who is in the vehicle.
