On Saturday, February 20, 2021, Scott Mowdy, husband and father to three sons, passed away at the age of 62. Scott was born on May 21, 1958 in Paradise, CA to Ray and Geneva Mowdy. Raised in Corcoran, CA, Scott grew up working various agricultural jobs and at age 18, began his career trucking commodities throughout California until retirement in 2020. On October 5, 1991 he married Jessie Oxford and each became parents to three sons, Brian, Joe and Matt. Scott was a confidant, a great listener and always led by example. People who knew Scott know he valued honesty and was always a straight shooter. Scott’s ability to fix anything never went unnoticed and everyone knew Scott would turn a few wrenches for a person in need. He was beyond passionate about his friends and family and looked forward to those Shaver and desert trips. In 2008, Scott was the recipient of a liver transplant and defied the odds by surviving another 12 years. He was able to see his three sons get married and start their own families, providing him with four beautiful grandchildren. Scott was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and longtime friend to many. The special moments Scott spent with these loved ones will be cherished forever.Scott was preceded in death by his father, Ray, and his mother, Neva. He is survived by his wife Jessie; son Brian and his wife Mary, son Joe, son Matt and his wife Kellie; his brother Steve and his wife Mary; his sister Shelly; and his four grandchildren, Sidnee, Kyle, Beau and Beck. A celebration of life was held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 1:00 in the afternoon.
