It’s a sad fact that one in five seniors will be a victim of fraud and criminals who target the elderly are always developing new scams to catch a vulnerable senior. Over the next several weeks Assemblyman Rudy Salas will be hosting multiple free educational Senior Scam Stopper Seminars in partnership with the California Contractors State License Board.
During the seminars, experts will provide tips on how to protect yourself against different types of scams, such as identity theft, elder financial abuse, insurance fraud and more. Seniors, families of all ages and caregivers are all welcome to attend.
The Corcoran seminar will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Recreation Association of Corcoran, 900 Dairy Ave. Additional seminars will be held in Lemoore, Bakersfield, Delano and Shafter for those who cannot attend the meeting in Corcoran. Check Salas’ website for the dates of the additional information sessions.
