Shirley Severta George was born March 9, 1935 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Lalan Parks and Margaret Teague Parks.
Shirley worked as a crossing guard for Mark Twain School for 21 years.
Survivors include her children, Donna Foster, Ronnie George and Tracy Flint who was a granddaughter but raised by Shirley as a daughter. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Parks, Johnny Parks and Raymond Parks; numerous nieces, nephews and friends; and her two constant companions Sassy and Candy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin Lee George, her daughter Diane Berna, her siblings Alice Parks, Linda Fay Parks, Donald Ray Parks, Elizabeth Hayes and Barbara Sue Blair.
Visitation was held at the New Life Tabernacle Church, 625 Soto Avenue, Corcoran. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 17. Arrangements were made under the direction of Bledsoe Family Peoples Funeral Chapel.
