
Breanne Tabarez, daughter of Lisa (Cruz) and Ray Tabarez of Hanford recently signed her Letter of Intent to play softball at Cal State Monterey Bay.
Breanne is a four- year Varsity Softball player for Hanford High School. She was Defensive Player of the year her Freshman and Sophomore year. She was second team all-league her sophomore and junior year. She has only been playing softball for five years and before that she played baseball for Hanford Little League, where she also made it to all stars each year.
She has been playing competitive travel ball since the seventh grade and 18u since the age of 15. Breanne has played for Cen Cal Krush, Shockwave and at the age of 15 she played in an 18u travel ball team called Insanity. She also went on to play for Central California Dirt Dogs where she will finish her summer season with them.
Breanne has attended many showcases and camps where she had the privilege to meet coaches and show them her talent. She had several colleges to choose from including Kentucky, Academy of the Arts, Menlo, Holy Names and Cal State Monterey Bay. She chose CSUMB because of their Kinesiology program, their strong softball program and it’s the closest University to the ocean.
Breanne has Corcoran ties. Her mom was a former Corcoran resident and her grandparents are Kathy and Fermin Cruz.
